Awesome RDP Client! Saved us $$$

As our shop works towards replacing the last few Win 10 stations with new Win 11 capable hardware, I took the opportunity to replace some workstations with W11 vm's rather than purchase new hardware. Budgets are tight and it's a shame that Microsoft is obsoleting so much hardware with the strict W11 requirements. This allows me to use the old pc's as thin clients to access the ne W11 vm's. And why spend money on Thin Clients when we have perfectly usable pc's on hand that were just running W10? So I began looking for options and stumbled upon this great project.

The UFTC is very easy to use and has a simple interface that seems impossible to not understand - power up the station and the user is quickly presented with a basic logon window with nothing else to do. The RDP performance is excellent - the remote display pops up quickly and there is no lag to the experience whatsoever, even with desktop wallpaper and other performance robbing options running.

Configuration is likewise quick and simple - just point UFTC at your desired target and go. The whole thing works great!

This utility saved my company well over $1,000 not having to purchase new hardware. Even given the Hyper-V licensing for the vm's we saved a substantial amount of hard-to-come-by funds by reusing working stations that otherwise would have gone to the recycler.

It surprises me that few (if any) similar projects exist out there that do such a great job with such a simple interface.

That’s great! But don’t go completely out of your way for me - the current release is working quite well. Anything extra will be icing on the cake 👍

Edit - above all else, security and stability are priorities. These are 'set it and forget it' boxes running 24/7 and with luck the next time I am called to service them they get replaced because they died of old age ;-) And I should have mentioned the security provided by a locked down linux appliance as yet another appealing feature of this project. Due diligence required me to peek at the network traffic before putting into my local lan and as expected there is nothing suspicious to be found.
