We can always add more tags to the info pop-ups. I don't think it's necessary to add new layers unless it's something really distinct that doesn't fit the other layers |

Similar idea about rendering maximum current for electricity layer: #272. In general it would be great to be able to configure certain aspects of the map dynamically for the railway lines. Currently this is hardcoded in layers. For example the electricity layers specifically shows electricity signals and specific electrification related items on the map, and the gauge layer shows some gauge-related places of interest. But for example the loading gauge and track class layers only show the railway lines and not much else. In that spirit we could make a "dynamic" layer where we could choose one of the many other interesting properties of railway lines. Then the only thing that is needed is a good visualization (the colors) for each property. Small sidenote: recent changes in MapLibre GL JS 5.6 and 5.7, (see maplibre/maplibre-style-spec#886, maplibre/maplibre-style-spec#1044, #537) allow making the map style more dynamic without much difficulty. A dynamic map style is needed to make highly customizable map layers for this discussion. |

What are the requirements to consider new layers based on tags? Some tracks have upwards of 15 distinct tags which could be nice to visualize. For instance
axle_loadortraffic_mode, but also many others.I understand that the legend would become unnecessary long if all tags were to be included. A solution could be to have a drop-down menu or separate selection window for all the other tags not included in the main layer selection.
There are many more tags than the eight currently viewable in ORM, so I hope to be able to view more of them soon
