Is the anytone 578uviii plus supported?

Hi, it looks like the European version AT-D578UV Air Plus is the same as the US version AT-D578UVIII Pro (the EU version has airband rx and GPS although it doesn't have the PRO word in the name). Extremely confusing.
I installed recently on my Air Plus version (most recent version they sell right now in UK, Germany etc.) the 196-branch of 0.13.0 but it had only the vanilla Baofeng in the selection list. I then replaced the USB VID/PID addresses in the anytone_interface.cc and added an alias from UVII to the plain UV. Now when trying to recognise the radio it actually connects, but then qdmr crashes and the radio reboots.
Has anyone gotten it to work with the most recent version of the radio? It shows in the radio info as AT-D578UVII, and the firmvwrsion version is AT_V 2.08

Ive just come up with an idea as a temporary work around, What if you made a codeplug for a different anytone radio thats similar and supported then import it into the official software. (unless you cant export in the format anytone uses)
