The problem
I have a setup with a G4 Doorbell Pro and a Unifi Chime. Both are paired via the Protect app, which works well.
Within Home Assistant, the volume can be modified for the Unifi chime. However, changing the chime volume via Home Assistant does not have an effect for doorbell rings.
I encountered the situation, that there are two different volumes for the chime:
- One maintained for the chime - this value can be only changed via the Protect app and Home Assistant
- One maintained for the doorbell - this value can only be changed on the Unifi web configuration UI
It seems that only changing the doorbell volume has an effect for doorbell rings. This value can‘t be changed via Home Assistant unfortunately.
This means however that without this volume slide, the ring volume cannot be changed effectively.
