Google Cloud STT - 504 Deadline Exceeded

The problem

I encounter frequent problem where after speaking my phrase the device will go into waitning state while trying to regonize speach and then voice pipeline would fail

Then in logs I can find error:

I'm getting the similar messages for the TTS Google Cloud implementation in my voice assistant pipeline. TTS seems to work most reliably with short sentences, and less reliably with elongated sentences.

I'm using Gemini 2.5 to return the user's inquiry. On average I'd say TTS to fails about 50% of the time and more if I've just recently asked a question. Debugging the voice assistant pipeline demonstrates Gemini is working great and it fails at the TTS stage. Wondering if there are TTS API rate-limits I'm up against? But, I also notice the same phenomenon with Piper as TTS. I wonder if it's a failure in the voice assistant pipeline?

Same here. For me it fails 100% of the times, even with short sentences/words. I have tested the cloud setup by manually calling the TTS service directly from the Google console and it works.

I encountered the same issue when the voice or text input was too long. I resolved it by increasing the timeout in both 'tts.py' and 'stt.py' from 10 seconds to 30 seconds.

You can see them in /usr/src/homeassistant/homeassistant/components/google_cloud/tts.py and stt.py. Find the line with timeout=10 and replace it. Restart HA after done.
