After setting up the Nest integration using the directions here: https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/nest/#configuration, I get the my.home-assistant.io callback, and it works well when using brave browser on my laptop. I get the page in the screenshot below, I don't change the default instance url of http://homeassistant.local:8123, and the process works.

However, when I run through this process on Android with the Home Assistant app installed, either starting in the app or starting in a browser instance, the my.home-assistant.io page seems to get loaded in the Home Assistant app, and the process breaks. the instance url is not shown, as below. If I click on 'link account', I get redirected to a blank screen within the app. Because this is happening in the app, I can't see any debug information or the url, etc. At this point, the Nest configuration process fails.
