Changes

This release fixes issues discovered in 17.0. Bug in Containerd causing excessive logging has been fixed. Compatibility issue with the latest OpenCCU add-on has been resolved by updating the generic_raw_uart driver for glibc 2.42+. Linux kernel of all targets has been updated to the latest stable version. All users are encouraged to upgrade.

Note that Home Assistant OS 17.1 uses Docker Containerd snapshotter by default, optional migration steps for existing installations are available in the 17.0 release notes.

After updating to this version, containerd and dockerd processes are consuming too much CPU and causing the whole system to be unstable. This is happening to the two machines I upgraded. Already tried to reboot, etc. Note I migrated to containerd-snapshotter in both machines. I'm reverting to 17.0 to compare.

FYI downgrading didn't help. Maybe the issue is not related with the upgrade then.

If you have access to the host console or have privileged SSH add-on running, could you maybe check docker stats to see if it's some of the containers which hogs the CPU?

Hey @sairon, thanks a lot. I've been trying to debug this for a while now, and my best clue is that Netdata add-on is causing containerd and dockerd to go crazy after switching to containerd-snapshotter.

I'm not 100% sure about this yet, and I'll keep testing it in the following days.

Anyway, please don't consider this issue associated with 17.1.rc1. Don't hold off the official release or anything because of it.

Upgraded my instance (OVA Virtualbox 7 under linux Mint). All smooth. The lights still go on and off. Don't notice any change.

Please, update linux-firmware for mediatek/7961 firmware. New beelink's PCs have that chip
