How to enable the ha_list_files tool? Environment variable doesn't work

I'm running the HA addon, and connects my local claude code to port 9583.
I'd like to cleanup some of the automation files which may requires ha_list_files, ha_read_file , and ha_write_file. I set the environment variable before starting claude but it's not able to locate these tools.
I have the integration installed via HACS, and created in the HA integration page.

Anything else I need to set?

Seems they are only available in the dev channel? Need to look in to that.

These are dev-channel-only for now. Switch to Home Assistant MCP Server (Dev), enable enable_filesystem_tools in its Configuration tab, and restart.

Your ha_mcp_tools integration also needs to be active in Settings > Devices & Services, not just installed.

PR #1431 will bring this to the stable addon.
