[BUG] Markdown does not work for short description in project exploration page

As you can see in the screenshot below, the markdown for the URL at the beginning of the short description is not interpreted correctly. This has been like this at least since mi 2021.

I have made some changes in the code in order to correct this issue. But I am not sure how to test these changes. @manjitapandey can you please help me with this?
