hooking into browsers navigate event

Currently we're hooking into each link click in order to override navigation. There is an feature meant for this.

Unfortunately it has not been implemented by Safari and Firefox...

But perhaps we could use the navigation event for chromium and click listeners as a fallback.

I wonder what the impact would be on the INP metric.
