Currently, there exists no way to play back local files within ncspot. This comes with some minor inconveniences when you own an album and wish to listen to that version, as you have to switch applications.
Describe the solution you'd like
I can't really describe an exact solution, as there's a number of design questions that are best asked here first. At its most basic level though, it works similarly to playing a Spotify song, except it's a local file (in ~/Music, for example)
Describe alternatives you've considered
Alternative players are of course always an option (nvlc for terminal, Elisa, etc), but honestly I do just prefer the way ncspot does things. I've grown to rather enjoy ncspot's customization and look / feel overall, and those applications aren't quite the same in my eyes. Additionally, it would also be nice to not need to juggle a few different music players!

Truthfully, I suspect that this feature is something that isn't really in scope for ncspot. Despite the features themselves being slightly different, in #300 maintainability is cited as a problem, and I can see the same being true here. I imagine someone would essentially have to agree to be a maintainer for it, which comes with its own issues even if there are people willing to do that.
Regardless, I figure I would throw the issue into the ring to see if there was any appetite for it at all, and if there was, how we could go about designing / implementing it 🙂↕️ There's a lot of questions around a feature like this, and I figure it's better to ask first than to try and dump a massive PR lol
