Resident mode: Covers not opening after leave

Hi again!

So I freshly configured all my CCA Automations on the recent version.

Everything is working great so far now, except one thing:
One of my covers has resident mode enabled.

Relevant config is as follows

• Drive up early: 07:00:00 (both)
• Drive up late: 10:00:00 (both)
• CCA Text Helper configured

And this is the resident config:

So far, so good.

Condition:
Covers are automatically closed at night. Person present.
At 10:00:00 the cover is NOT opened, due to the resident still being present. Good so far.
It is now 10:15:00 and the person leaves the room (sensor switches to not present / false).

Expected behavior:
The cover opens after the sensor switches to not present when it should usually be open

Actual behavior:
The cover stays closed

It is possible to configure the cover to open immediately, but that would cause the cover to open even before the early open time.

I remember we had something similar in the past. If this is expected behavior, I would like to request a new option for the "open immediately" option so it only opens between early drive up and late drive down time.
Could also be done as a global "prevent the cover from being automatically opened between late drive down and early drive up".
It should not affect lockout and ventilation though. Only the scheduled drives.

I am confused. You haven't even activated the option ‘Open the cover immediately when the sensor goes to 'off/false'?’. See screenshot above. Have you ever tried this? It does exactly what you want.

UPDATE 1: Hmm, my mistake. I've just read that you've already tried it out. Let me check the code at my leisure.

UPDATE 2: Yes, as far as I can tell, that's exactly how I programmed it. The times are checked when the resident sensor is changed.

I think you misunderstood me @hvorragend . EDIT: Didn't notice the update comments :)

Currently (option not enabled) The cover stays closed while I am in the room even when it "should". Correct behavior.
It does not open when I leave the room after the usual open triggers (brightness, open late time etc). Maybe also supposed?

BUT:
If I enable the option to open the cover immediately, what happens is the following:
If I enter the room after the covers have closed in the evening - let's say drive down late is 8PM and I enter the room for a short amount of time at at 10 PM - the covers will open immediately after I leave the room again.
When going to bed later - let's say 11 PM - the covers are opened even though they would be closed without resident mode.

So I need a way to ensure, that the covers will open after the resident leaves (ideally: immediately if they should already be open or at the desired time according to the other parameters) but does not open when any other parameter should keep them closed (like too dark outside or too early to open).

Another structured example, assuming the only open/close conditions would be:
Drive up early: 07:00:00 (both)
Drive up late: 10:00:00 (both)
Drive down early: 17:00:00 (both)
Drive down late: 20:00:00 (both)
Brightness to open: > 150
Brightness to close: < 100

In kurz: Du aktivierst die Option "open immediate" und das Rollo soll nur öffnen, wenn es auch eigentlich dort sein sollte. Also nicht abends, gelle?

mir ist das gleiche Verhalten aufgefallen. Ich wollte nur nicht nochmal nerven, nachdem du schon die Öffnung Abends korrigiert hast & ich dir ewig nicht geantwortet habe. ;)

Meine Einstellungen sind fast genauso (nur andere Zeiten & Licht-Werte, aber "open immediately" ist aus) wie von @fsedarkalex.

-Nachdem die "Drive Down Time" & die Schwelle des Lichtsensors erreicht wurden, fahren die Rollos runter (perfekt!)
-Wenn jemand zwischen "Drive Down Early" & "Drive Down Late" den Raum betritt & wieder rausgeht, bleiben die Rollos unten (War mein ursprüngliches Problem, nun läuft es perfekt!)
-Wenn die "Drive Up Time" & die Schwelle des Lichtsensors erreicht werden, der Anwesenheitssensor aber noch belegt ist, bleiben die Rollos unten (perfekt!)
Aber:
-Wenn der Anwesenheitssensor auf "frei" wechselt & alle anderen Bedingungen erfüllt sind (Uhrzeit zwischen "Drive up early" & "Drive up late" & Helligkeit > Schwelle des Lichtsensors), bleiben die Rollos trotzdem unten (nicht perfekt ;) )

Ich glaube was @fsedarkalex möchte & auch was ich gerne hätte wäre, dass die Rollos Abends unten bleiben wenn der Anwesenheitssensor auf "frei" wechselt, morgens aber hoch fahren nachdem der Anwesenheitssensor nicht mehr belegt ist.

Ich kann gerne noch einen trace oder meine config teilen, falls das hilft.

Ich habe im Dezember auch noch Anpassungen vorgenommen, die ich noch gar nicht veröffentlicht habe. Müsste mal wieder ran. 😀

Hi, so, I've made a similar question here because it is related to this issue.
Basically, what I'm experiencing is that if the Resident sensor goes off after the first Drive-Up time, it will not open immediately the Cover.
And, after hte Late Drive-up time, if the Resident sensor goes to off, it will not open immediately the cover, also.

Ich wollte eigentlich eine Änderung noch in v2025.04.18 mit aufnehmen, da ich das Ticket gerne lösen wollte.
Doch die Abhängigkeiten sind zu groß. Das muss ich in Ruhe durchdenken.

Wenn ich unverzüglich öffne, wenn der Resident auf "off" wechselt: Wie soll ich dann sicherstellen, dass dies nicht abends oder während der Beschattung passiert? Aktuell wird Residents nämlich im Zweig fürs Öffnen und Schließen ausgeführt.

Ich müsste eine eigene Abstraktion einbauen, wie bei der Beschattung. CCA müsste wissen, wo sich das Rollo eigentlich befinden sollte. Das läuft also quasi leise im Hintergrund, damit der Residentwechsel darauf reagieren kann. Das ist richtig schwierig umzusetzen.

Leider nicht im aktuellen Update. Ich grüble noch ein wenig.
Manchmal geht es auch ganz einfach. Und auf eine solche Eingebung hoffe ich nun. :-)

Nur ein Gedanke, der wahrscheinlich viel zu einfach ist und definitiv nicht das Thema Beschattung beinhaltet:
Wäre nicht eine einfache Bedienung wie

"Wenn die aktuelle Zeit zwischen frühen öffnen und späten öffnen; dann öffne sofort"

eine Herangehensweise?
Nur ein Gedanke, den ich hatte. Ich weiß aber nicht, was so alles weitere im Hintergrund passiert und dementsprechend ist das vermutlich nicht passend.

Ja, das ist gut. Aber es soll ja auch danach immer direkt geöffnet werden. Also nach Drive Up Late.
