Problem with hydrogen

I want to connect my Alesis drum kit turbo on hydrogen linux
I connect with USB the drum on my computer
I connect my sound on the computer.
on hydrogen option I put Alesis a midi in on system option
The drum kit option is on
When I play on the drums the green midi light on hydrogen show that it receive the midi info but there is no sound and neither if I make a record the e-drum doesn't be mark...
sorry for my English.
I am new on Linux and hydrogen

Hey @Toniodesiles ,

If the MIDI light is flashing within Hydrogen, you are almost there.

Have you checked the input mode and note mapping settings? (see http://hydrogen-music.org/documentation/manual/manual_en.html#chpt.midi.note) From what you describe MIDI message are already properly handled by Hydrogen. Maybe a small configuration detail is missing.

In case you are using version 1.2.0 of Hydrogen, you might also suffer this problem: #2018 (comment). Then it might be best to use the latest version instead.

If this still doesn't fix your problem, could you open Hydrogen via hydrogen -VDebug in a terminal and attach the log messages in here?

Hello, I download the version 1.2.4 but the Midi light stay on during a minute and then turn of and never move... but unexpactaly after this I've been back to the 1.2.0 version and it's working!!!
But maybe i have 1/2 second difference between when I hit and when the sound arrive.. is it possible to regulate?

That's very strange. If you supply some log messages I'm sure we can get 1.2.4 to work too.

Hmm. Latency is quite tricky on Linux systems and not something directly related to Hydrogen itself. I would recommend to use the JACK audio driver and to adjust the buffer size as low as you can without having sound artifacts. See https://linuxmusicians.com/ for loads of hints and advices
