well of course, i'm sure its the same on x as well, except the cursor wouldn't really lag because the window manager doesn't render anything (x server does that), while on wayland the compositor is rendering everything including the cursor so lag should be expected unde3r heavy load |

The more windows that are open the slower things get (and the higher cpu usage gets when just moving the mouse around on any workspace). If you are to open say ~50 it's very noticeable, open many more and things start to become unusable. Cursor movement causes the hyprland process to spike in cpu usage under these conditions and is very laggy. Disabling features doesn't affect this, which makes sense as you can be on an unused workspace and cursor movement is still laggy, one assumes it's iterating over "something" for all windows/clients on all desktops when doing this.
