movefocus not working with specific keybindings

Hey, my movefocus setting is not working when I change the keybindings.

When I am using arrow keys in the config like that:

# Move focus
bind = $mainMod, left, movefocus, l
bind = $mainMod, right, movefocus, r
bind = $mainMod, up, movefocus, u
bind = $mainMod, down, movefocus, d

It is working as expected, but whenever I change the arrow keys to hjkl:

# Move focus
bind = $mainMod, l, movefocus, l
bind = $mainMod, h, movefocus, r
bind = $mainMod, k, movefocus, u
bind = $mainMod, j, movefocus, d

it is going in random directions which I cannot predict

I don't have any other bindings that collides with this one, moreover I have a very similiar binding with hjkl to movewindows and it works as expected.

works on my end, likely conflicting binds. check hyprctl binds

Chiming in to say this randomly started affecting me as well. Checking my hyprland config as well as hyprctl binds does not show any conflicting binds.

The only difference for me is that switching the binds to the arrow keys doesn't actually seem to fix the issue. The arrow keys movefocus is just as erratic.

Oh, and it also only seems to happen to me with floating windows. My windows float by default, but when I have them tiled, everything works as expected. Maybe something wrong with movefocus specifically with floating windows?

I have the same config on 2 devices and it works like a charm on one of them.
I will check the second one (not working one) tomorrow, when I will be back from holiday break and let you know the outcome.

Are you using floating windows? Its super easy to reproduce for me. I can just get any number of windows, align them, and then try to jump between them, and it will jump to the wrong one every time. I have no_focus_fallback enabled, and starting at the upper left window and attempting to move focus to the right just causes to bounce back and forth between the top left to windows. I can't really figure out the logic of how its trying to move.

I've replicated that floating grid and movefocus is very predictable and natural on my end
