I'm also having the same problem. I've found a workaround, so I found out that the menu window is its own window, so you need to get the class or title (or both) of the window using EDIT: out of topic, but I also get this behaviour with Steam Friend List dropdown menu, but not as often as the Zoom one |

Hyprland version (and other version stuff)
Output from
hyprctl version(updated for 0.49 release):Zoom is installed from its vendor-provided Arch package, with version 6.4.6.1370-1.
Hyprland is installed from the Arch package, with version 0.48.1-5.
Regression
Is this a regression? I'm not sure.
Describe the bug
Some Zoom menus kinda sorta work, at least with

follow_mouse=0, but the menus that come up when clicking on the "^" arrows in the bottom bar of the Zoom window (shown below), disappear as the mouse moves from where I've clicked to the newly opened menu.In
~/.config/zoomus.conf,xwayland=true.Reproduction steps
To try out this behavior for yourself, join a test meeting at https://zoom.us/test, and when the Zoom GUI comes up, don't click on the buttons that test if the sound is working, since that will close the meeting. Just go to the window with the bottom bar shown above and click on the "^" arrows by the buttons.
As a point of comparison, I don't see this behavior with the latest Sway, compiled against wlroots-git (v 0.19).
(I haven't tested with Labwc yet).As another point of comparison, Labwc has a different problem, which still uses wlroots 0.18, has a different problem: the "^" menu works the first time, but subsequent attempts to show the menu fail the way that it does on Hyprland. [ETA: I compiled a version of LabWC that compiles against wlroots-git, v 0.19, and that fixed the problem for LabWC.If tThe latest release of Hyprland doesn't fix my problem; I guess wlroots could be examined for solutions to this problem.]System info and config
hyprctl-sysinfo-2025-05-12.txt
[ETA: I moved this from "Bugs: Other" to "Bugs: XWayland" because when I saw similar problems in other compositors, they were resolved by updates in their XWayland implementations.]
