Moving Cursor Quickly Between Monitors Creates "Ghost Cursor"

I have 2 monitors (laptop and larger one above) and every once in a while a "ghost cursor" appears on my laptop's screen when moving the cursor quickly to the external monitor. I can only get the cursor to regularly appear on the laptop screen, but I think I can remember it appearing on the external monitor (I might be wrong).
