With default configuration of
debugsection Hyprland remains silent until it's time to exit, then it outputs a whole lot starting withWelcome to Hyprland!and further info, which belongs to the startup time. I haven't checked if it comes via stdout or syslog (I just see this in journal). Currently on 0.49.0, but I've seen this behavior for quite a while before that.Hyprland does not forward stdout and stderr from
execandexec-once, but it did (?) in earlier versions... or am I struck by Mandela effect? I expected it to do so.In general it would be nice to have some sane moderate stdout/stderr logging enabled automatically if Hyprland finds itself in systemd unit. Journal supports
<N>syslog severity prefixes (0-7: EMERG-DEBUG) when parsing output from processes.Beta Was this translation helpful? Give feedback.
