Is it possible to have window borders collapsed?

Does Hyprland provide a config option to have windows borders collapsed?

My config:

general {
    gaps_in = -1
    gaps_out = -1
    gaps_workspaces = 2

    border_size = 1
}

The borders between apps are a single pixel and hidden at the workspace / monitor edges

Great. Your settings plus dim_inactive and some shadowing, this gives a really clean tiling view.

One gripe for my use case, is resize_on_border stops working with gaps_in = -1. Using Hyprland’s built-in zoom utility I find out gaps_in = -1 is actually making neighboring windows bleed into each other by 1px. This is because gaps_in = -1 expands into gaps_in = -1,-1,-1,-1, so two -1 add up to -2.

To have borders really stack on top of the other, gaps_in=-1,0,0,-1 seems to do the trick (or gaps_in=0,-1,-1,0, it's the same).

Something unrelated: To be honest, I love how gaps_in = -1 looks in the end. Letting focused pane slightly covering up surrounding ones gives a "standout" appearance, that is eye pleasing and serves as a status hint as well, but that is not working with resize_on_border, so a no for me. I'd be happy if Hyprland could extend extend_border_grab_area to support "lingering" focus for tiling window, so that moving cursor out of tiling window won't immediately switch focus within the given range, like how it curently works for floating one.
For now I will stay with gaps_in = 0 & border_size = 1, that gives me 2px to click&drag the window gap.
