Xwayland drag and drop to same window not working - QGIS layer ordering

Hi, I'm on Arch Linux. Using QGIS 3.44.1 and Hyprland 0.50.1 from extra repository.

Expected outcome
Drag and drop should work as follows in the Layers panel: (this is on Wayland, which is not recommended by QGIS due to bugs)

This works as expected on sway with an Xwayland session.

Outcome on Hyprland Xwayland (XDG_SESSION_TYPE=x11)

You may see in the border color that the window focus changes.

How can I test this out further? I have seen another similar discussion for Krita but haven't tried it out.
