Toggle gaps of active workspace

I want to toggle gaps_in, gaps_out and border_size values on the active workspace using a keymap.
I don't want to toggle them globally and I also don't want to set a workspace rule for a certain workspace.

Use case

I often have 2 windows open and want to remove the borders using single keymap and make them return with the same keymap.
This could be any workspace 1, 2, 3 etc., as this happens randomly when I enter "focus mode".

All the solutions I found depend on a bash script and/or modiy the gaps globally.
Any idea how to achieve this desired output?
