HDR screenshare looks wrong in terms of brightness and saturation

Similar discussion to #11626, but that got marked as answered without figuring out a way to screenshare HDR it seems. Regardless feel free to close if that discussion is a better place to discuss this.

How to reproduce:
Set cm to hdr or hdredid and try to screenshare. The saturation will be washed out and the brightness wrong.

Explanation:
When screensharing an HDR game or an HDR application, on both the latest commit as of writing and the latest archlinux package, the screenshare looks washed out and has incorrect brightness. For example, Marvel's Spider-Man looks washed out in the screen capture and the brightness is wrong too. This happens when i screenshare a Discord window too; it looks too bright. Screensharing mpv with the following settings also does not look entirely correct either:

profile = gpu-hq
gpu-api = vulkan
hwdec = auto-safe
gpu-context = waylandvk
target-colorspace-hint = auto
target-colorspace-hint-mode = source

Questions for discussion:
Is there no way to properly set the brightness and saturation for desktop capture with HDR? The windows themselves outside of the desktop capture look okay it's just that the desktop capture looks wrong. KDE appears to have this sorted when testing in that environment, so I'm wondering what they're doing to get it looking right.

I closed my discussion because the answer pointed to a general tonemapping issue.
Something like #11341 would the issue to tackle, AFAIK.

Perhaps so. I don't know enough to comfortably say what is to be done either (obviously), but I'm hoping this gets fixed eventually. I upvoted the issue you pointed out as it sounds like it should be first before screensharing, though.
