Ok, it turns out that reinstalling the parallels tools was a red herring. That install ends up killing several processes, among them |

@vaxerski sorry for the ping, just curious if you've had a chance to look at / think about this one at all? It's not a show stopper, per se, but it is pretty annoying if you're working between Parallels and macOS trying to read or paste things back and forth. |

This isn't an issue on VMware, but I'd prefer to use Parallels as I think the graphics support is better? In VMware I have to set the following for anything to work properly.
But in Parallels I don't need those, so my assumption is that Parallels supports some GPU capabilities where as VMware doesn't?
