While I could just use winewayland to alleviate this problem, it has its own issues (e.g. refresh rate going to max under VRR on certain titles) and is generally not as stable as the X11 driver yet, hence why I created this discussion. |

Making a Wine/Proton game fullscreen while direct scanout is enabled prevents it from applying its own custom cursor.
As an example, Bloons TD 6 uses its own custom cursor for interacting with things. Fullscreening the game while direct scanout is enabled prevents it from applying said cursor, meaning that the game would still be using the last cursor image before launch.
Note that this does not occur with winewayland, so only games that run under X11 are affected. I'm also not using Hyprcursor if that's relevant.
