Is "ext-workspace-v1" supported somehow in Hyprland?

I don't see it listed, but

• waybar's ext-workspace module works
• Waycheck says Yes
• https://absurdlysuspicious.github.io/wayland-protocols-table/ says no
• lxqt-panel master git works too, but multiscreen implementation has issues, but works fine on niri and labwc.
• xfce4-panel does not

I see ExtWorkspace.cpp
ExtWorkspace.hpp.

I'm wondering if there are different implementations, as also xfce4-panel doesn't work with Hyprland but does with Niri.
We can test only with niri, cosmic and Hyprland for the LXQt desktop switcher with workspace groups (as labwc doesn't have them) and the behavior on Hyprland is buggy while it works (almost) fine on the other two compositors.

• Switching between workspaces by swipe adds always a new one in Hyprland
• Unused workspaces aren't removed.
  Any idea?

@vaxerski In lxqt/lxqt-panel#2376 (comment) it was pointed out that Hyprland is violating the protocol, which says "the compositor must remove all workspaces belonging to a workspace group via a workspace_leave event before removing the workspace group." It looks like the destroy listener in CExtWorkspaceResource is missing a call to CExtWorkspaceGroupResource::workspaceLeave.

Thanks @vaxerski. I compiled the latest Hyprland from Git as of 60efbf3f, installed it, and verified that my new bits loaded (I had to modernize the windowrule settings in my hyprland.conf). Then I compiled again with your patch from #12048 (reply in thread). Unfortunately, I see no change in behavior. Both before and after your patch, I get a crash (before lxqt/lxqt-panel#2378) and broken LXQt desktop switcher (after lxqt/lxqt-panel#2378). By "broken desktop switcher", I mean that after switching from workspace 1 to 2 using a Hyprland workspace binding, a phantom 3rd workspace shows up in the LXQt desktop switcher, and after switching back to 1 and back to 2, a phantom 4th workspace shows up, etc (these are never cleaned up). The fact that before lxqt/lxqt-panel#2378 the segfault occurs both before and after your patch from #12048 (reply in thread) suggests that your patch might not be having the desired effect of sending the needed workspace_leave event.

The LXQt desktop switcher widget didn't show up for me at first either, but it showed up after I moved a window from one workspace to another using Hyprland key bindings.
