There's the
strutsfeature in the Niri compositor where you could emulate gaps to the monitor itself for a peeking out effect of nearby workspaces. While reading the hyprland's documentation I noticed thegeneral:gaps_workspaceoption but it's kinda sad that it only applies mid-animation. I suggest that negativegeneral:gaps_workspacevalues would apply for persistent window draws as well (just like this screenshot where I still have hold of the workspace switching animation. I use slidevert here).It might be a primarily cosmetic change but it would also be of great utility to notice nearby workspaces persistently peeking without resorting to external workspace indicators like in waybar (or notifications in barless setups).
Also, if this kind of option exists already tap me in on it. Open to workarounds if possible! 🙏
