I run IntelliJ products in Wayland mode. I've found that installing beta versions of the Jetbrains Runtime helps. Their wayland implementation is under heavy development right now. Edit: the newest release is the stable version. There's no beta right now. However Jetbrains IDEs can lag behind a couple versions before they push the latest JBR. https://github.com/JetBrains/JetBrainsRuntime Go to releases and download the latest beta then follow these instructions. https://www.jetbrains.com/help/idea/switching-boot-jdk.html If you're not running in Wayland mode, follow these instructions. https://blog.jetbrains.com/platform/2024/07/wayland-support-preview-in-2024-2/ |

These tooltips are basically newly spawned windows that steal focus. Check their title by monitoring the IPC socket and apply a similar rule: I had a similar issue with android studio and this fixed it. |

@vaxerski Just checking – is there a plan to fix this issue in the future, or is the current rule intended as a permanent workaround? |
