Description
Hi,
I've had this issue a few times but i probably need to set the stage to make the issue clear.
My setup:
- Laptop (lid closed, i essentially use it as a desktop)
- External monitor
- Bluetooth speakers
My playback:
- Spotify on web (in firefox)
- Normal volume from the bluetooth speakers
Fast forward, hours later, i put the system in idle or an event happens (idle detection) that makes it go into idle on it's own. Suspend/sleep. Note that this action does automatically disconnect bluetooth, which is fine. No problem till this point.
Now i wake up my system.
Music, still from the buffer in the browser, blasts out at whatever volume the laptop speakers were (not bluetooth as it hasn't connected yet). The hypridle screen is now in front of me to login. As i just discovered pressing any of the media keys on my laptop or external keyboard has no effect at all. The music keeps blasting with no way of controlling it till i login.
After logging in the media keys work again and i can lower volume.
So yeah, i would love to have the media keys (or at the very least the volume ones) to be just working when hypridle is showing.
Another potential solution would be, but i don't know if that is even technically possible, to pause all whatever is currently playing in any running apps right before going to suspend.
