Not able to change wallpaper on all monitors with reload keyword

I'm currently attempting to change my wallpaper using the following line:

hyprctl hyprpaper reload ,$HOME/Pictures/Wallpapers/Dracula/arch_linux_text_purple.png

From my understanding, this should change the wallpaper on all connected monitors without the need to explicitly identify them.
This fails to change the wallpaper but prints out an "ok" status when the command is ran.

If I use instead,

hyprctl hyprpaper reload eDP-1, $HOME/Pictures/Wallpapers/Dracula/arch_linux_text_purple.png

The wallpaper is changed as expected.

Currently I launch hyprpaper on startup under uwsm with the following line from the wiki:

exec-once = systemctl --user enable --now hyprpaper.service

Please let me know if there is other debugging information that I could provide.

To add to this, I have a second computer with an identical configuration where this works. The only difference would be the monitors attached and obviously the computer itself.

I am experiencing similar results with hyprpaper 0.7.5-2 running as a user service.

hyprctl hyprpaper reload ,~/.bg responds with 'ok' but doesn't change the wallpaper. restarting the service is required for the wallpaper to change

I couldn't really understand the true problem in #258, but maybe it is a similar issue that they are having

I have the same issue. I'm setup with a symlink under ~/Images/current that is updated by a script I use to set my wallpaper. Therefore, when I run it, ~/Images/current is updated to point to an image I selected. I then have the following content in /home/simon/.config/hypr/hyprpaper.conf:

preload   = ~/Images/current
wallpaper = ,~/Images/current

Whenever, I switch the link, my script runs this after changing the link:

# ...
if # ...
elif [[ $XDG_SESSION_TYPE =~ "wayland" ]] && pidof Hyprland >/dev/null; then
    systemctl --user restart hyprpaper
# ...

to make it work. I would have expected rather having this would have worked:

# ...
if # ...
elif [[ $XDG_SESSION_TYPE =~ "wayland" ]] && pidof Hyprland >/dev/null; then
    hyprctl hyprpaper reload ~/Images/current
# ...

but it doesn't.

The bothering thing is that restarting the service has the annoying side effect of showing the default wallpaper for half a second or so.
