FROZEN
This file declares a formal specification freeze for Forensic Provenance Protocol (FPP) v0.1.
The following documents are hereby frozen and normative:
- PROTOCOL.md
- INVARIANTS.md
- THREAT_MODEL.md
- CONFIDENCE_MODEL.md
- ATTRIBUTION_BOUNDARY.md
These documents collectively define the complete and authoritative v0.1 protocol specification.
Effective immediately upon this freeze:
- No semantic changes are permitted to frozen documents
- No invariants may be weakened or removed
- No attribution, identity inference, or ownership claims may be introduced
- No heuristic or probabilistic guessing may be added
- All future changes must be versioned (v0.2, v1.0, etc.)
Clarifications, commentary, or errata may only be added via:
- New documents, or
- Explicit versioned amendments
- Reference implementations MUST conform to the frozen specification
- Implementations MAY be incomplete
- Implementations MUST NOT extend protocol semantics
- Any divergence MUST be documented explicitly
This freeze exists to:
- Preserve determinism and reproducibility
- Prevent scope creep
- Enable independent implementation
- Establish audit and review stability
This freeze does not imply:
- Production readiness
- Completeness of implementation
- End of research or future versions
This freeze is declared by the protocol author and is binding for v0.1.
Subsequent protocol evolution requires a new versioned freeze.
