I'm curious what do you mean by a lot of images.
Though maybe this snippet will help you.

What it does is takes a random number within the given length range (the number of images) and gets the image with the number from the specified directory. As well as adds fadeout and fadein effects.

Too bad Ian didn't leave any examples with images.
