Curious what you think about running sync-refs automatically on each deploy? This would remove one step, and should keep the refs in sync with actual deployments.

@octalmage sounds like a good solution for the current implementation. I might also explore symlink a bit more as well see if it's feasible.

there might be a change of structure in the future. I have recently got inspired by Anchor's workspace (solana's dapps framework, not the saving protocol) so it might look a bit more seamless in the near future.
