I've tried searching, and if there's an answer to this I've missed it.
My late sister has over 83K photos in iCloud. I've already done the "download all my stuff" thing, but that loses critical information that she added in iCloud. For example, she scanned in a lot of old family photos and added titles/captions identifying when they were taken and who's in them. For these, the time and location she scanned them is irrelevant.
Do I remember right that icloudpd can download images and preserve that data? As this point, I don't really care if it's in the image file or a sidecar file, as long as I have it. I also want to preserve her folder structure, but if I understand correctly the only real way to do that is download one folder or subfolder at a time. That'll take a while, but at least it's doable.
Mainly at this point it's the titles/captions that I'm worried about. I'd like to cancel her iCloud account but until I can get that info out of Apple's clutches I'm stuck paying for their storage.
Oh, and I'm doing this on Windows because it's the system I have and know.
Thanks!
