MOOSE update in HPC cluster

Dear all,
I would like to update MOOSE in the HPC cluster. Do I need to install MOOSE again from scratch to get the updated version? Please be aware that It is not a CONDA-based installation.

Hello

It's quite similar to a new install to update but not quite:

git fetch origin
git checkout origin/master
cd scripts
MOOSE_JOBS=10 ./update_and_rebuild_petsc.sh
MOOSE_JOBS=10 ./update_and_rebuild_libmesh.sh
cd test
make -j 10
./run_tests -j 10

with 10 procs

if you have modified the code, you'll want to rebase instead of checkout

@GiudGiud I am getting errors during MOOSE test after update. It is in the sampleoutput.C file.
I have attached the error message. What would be the solution?

there's some serious contamination of macros here.
This "_serialize" macro should not show up here it s not in moose.

Try to clean up the CXXFLAGS from unwanted includes.

If you can't do that.
in SampledOutput.C and SampledOutput.h, rename _serialize (with search & replace) to _serial_output
