Hello all,

I am pleased to announce that the January 2026 edition of the MOOSE Newsletter is live on our website. Notable changes include:

• GPU support improvements (in both the MFEM and Kokkos-MOOSE integrations)
• LibMesh was updated to 502d428
• PETSc updated from v3.24.2 to v3.24.3.
• MFEM was updated 9708cc5...b5af0e9.
• Support for OSX Ventura was removed.
• Various package updates (driven by compiler, MPI wrapper, and Python updates below):
  • Update MPICH to 4.3.2
  • Update OpenMPI to 5.0.8
  • Update HDF5 to 1.14.6
  • Update CMake to 4
  • Update GCC to 14.3.0 on Linux
  • Update Clang to 19.1.7 on Mac
  • Update GFortran to 14.3.0
  • Allow python 3.14

The structure of the MOOSE news has slightly changed. MOOSE-specific content, including general improvements, modules changes, and bug fixes, are now more prominent near the top of the news page. Updates to libMesh, PETSc, and the conda packages then follow!
