hello If you want to update, i was able to install the latest moose directly on my intel mac running Big Sur. I think you might have just not had an updated version of MOOSE at the same time as you updated the moose-dev/libmesh package ? To install the latest:

Issue or question about MOOSE
Hello Everyone,
I hope you’re doing well.
I’m currently using a 2019 Intel-based MacBook running macOS Ventura. I understand that support for MOOSE on Intel Macs has been discontinued; however, I was still able to run it successfully until February 2026. Unfortunately, I recently updated MOOSE by mistake, and it is no longer working on my system.
I’m reaching out to ask if anyone might still have access to an older, working version of MOOSE for Intel Macs, or a repository/archive they could share. It would be a huge help for me to continue my work.
I would sincerely appreciate any assistance or guidance.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards,
AD
