Using SolutionUserObject as IC

I am using a SolutionUserObject as IC for a simulation. The simulation starts with a no load domain to which the IC is applied and then applied an axial pressure. There is reaction-diffusion happening for the complete time. This gave me the following error:

The following error occurred in the UserObject '2phase' of type SolutionUserObject.

Failed to access the data for variable 'c1_total' at point (x,y,z)=( 2.83354, 0.510408,        0) in the '2phase' SolutionUserObjectBase

It makes sense that the error is caused because of the now deformed domain. Why is the SolutionUserObject accessed when it is used only in IC?

Doing some reading about CoupledVarThresholdElementSubdomainModifier, I believe that is what is causing the error. I think it is because of the reinitialization_strategy. But I am unable to fix this behavior.

you are correct.
You need to change the reinitialization stategy to not use the IC when changing the subdomain of an element
Set reinitialization_strategy to NONE or polynomial_nearby for example
