How can I remove an ICC profile without converting the image?

I see that ImageEncoder now has a function to set (or remove) the ICC profile, which is exactly what I want. But if I understand correctly, I can’t just remove the ICC profile, I have to re-encode the JPEG, which is lossy. Is there a way to avoid this and simply strip the ICC profile from the image, or is it impossible for some reason?

Yeah, you'd need a library that had a deeper understanding of the underlying JPEG format. From the perspective of image, each file format is abstracted to just providing ways to encode/decode the pixel data but not to work with the original compressed contents.
