Custom objects not available if caching functionality is enabled and cache entry exists

I have extended studycourse with a database relation field eventDates. The extbase object is not available if caching functionality is enabled and a cache entry exists (first time it is available). If I debug there is a thing listed, but it is null instead of an object. Any hint how to fix that?
