EXOSII (PMC 8)

Hi all, not being a Windows user, I have been really searching for astroimaging solutions that run either on Mac or Linux. I was excited to come across INDIGO. I have downloaded v5 from the Apple store and I am trying to get my PMC8 and EXOSII mount to connect via serial cable (USB cable with FTDI chipset). I followed everything in this issue and just can't seem to connect.

I'm stuck with only be abler to use Explore Stars, which is horrible.

Any suggestions?

Is the mount in "serial" mode? If you use Explore Stars I suppose it is in "network" mode.

This driver can also use WiFi connection if it is an alternative for you. See comments section here:

Yeah, it's in serial mode, i did use a friend's windows computer to test that. Maybe I will try WiFi. This has just been a difficult mount to control/connect.

There is also a possibility, that FTDI chip in that USB-to-serial cable needs operating system level driver:

It is sometimes challenging to make some of them working :(

It would be useful if you can make a trace log and attach it here to see if any communication went through or if it failed at the very beginning.
