Installation of 1.6.5 fails

Entering install script throws an error "Cannot read file /install/package"

After I've added package file from 1.6.4. it required file "/COPYING" which is also absent in 1.6.5.

The next error is 'Checksum differs for /b.php' and so on, and so on.

Complete mess.

Try to create blank file "/install/package". It should help.

I've added 'package' file - see above. But there lots of errors after that.

Use blank (empty) file. I have tried and it works fine!

I meant further errors not concerned with ''package'' file - they caused by absense of 'COPYING' file, incorrect checksums and so on - see first post.

If you use completely empty file (without any line of text) as 'package' file there will be no checksums controlling at all. This means no error related with checksums will occurs.

Forget ''package'' file. Further errors aren't related with it. 'Checksum differs for /b.php' error isn't about ''package'' file - read the first post again :)

Source of all your errors(including checksum errors) is wrong package file. Do not use one from v1.6.4. Just create empty file (completely empty) and put it into /install/package.

Let me explain. All checksums stored in 'package' file. Mibew files in v1.6.4 and v1.6.5 are different and checksums are different too. If 'package' file is empty, as i have wrote before, than there is no checksums comparision at all.

Just try to make 'package' file empty - it will solve the problem.
