Create elf with pinball with fat:0

Dear developers,

Thank you for providing this tool.

I am trying to create elfies with this paper: Public Release and Validation of SPEC CPU2017 PinPoints.

However, the PinPoints have fat:0 in their global.log files. The scripts will raise an error since there is a FATCHECK.

I also tried to switch to pinball2elf-dev branch. I execute in docker environment ubuntu18.04, and gcc 7.5.0. The example works, but when I try to generate elf for exchange2, it just gets segmentation fault.

I am wondering how to create elfies with pinball2elf, or should I switch to another previous version if available?

(The link to the paper did not work for me). You may edit the relevant script to disable the fat:0 check. This will allow you to make some progress. Regarding the segfault for the ELFie you generated/tested, it will need to be debugged. See the debugging tips on the pinball2elf README page. Is the region you captured trying to read any input or files? You will need to make sure they are provided. See the section on SYSSTATE creation in the README. Hope this helps.
