Github pages workflow is failing

Problem

The VitePress build step fails when dead links are found, and the wiki has had dead links since August.

Setting VitePress's ignoreDeadLinks build configuration to true would be a quick fix.

Hi @jimchamp! Thanks for the response. I've done some research on the VitePress configuration. I've identified that setting ignoreDeadLinks: true in the .vitepress/config.js file will resolve the build failure.

I am happy to test the build locally using npm run docs:build to verify the fix before submitting. I'm also happy to document this change in the repository if that would be helpful for the team. Looking forward to @RayBB's thoughts!

@jnakaigen the correct thing to do is fix the broken links. The settingb is there because we don't want to have broken links in the docs. So you can work on that

Understood, @RayBB. Fixing the links is definitely the better long-term solution. I'll use npm run docs:build to generate the list of dead links and work through them. I'll also look for Wayback Machine captures to replace any broken external links where possible. Starting on this now!

Update: I've successfully reproduced the 15 dead link failures locally by running npm run docs:build on the openlibrary.wiki repository. Most errors appear to be path mismatches in _Sidebar-@aom01.md and 2_Developers/index.md. I am currently mapping the correct file locations and will update the links to ensure the build passes.

I have successfully resolved the dead link failures and confirmed the fix with a successful local build.

Technical Summary:

Root Cause: The documentation build was failing because 15 links in _Sidebar-@aom01.md and 2_Developers/index.md were using legacy 'flat' paths that didn't match the current nested directory structure.

The Fix: I performed a full audit of the repository using find to map broken links to their new homes (e.g. moving Testing to ./2_Developers/misc/Testing).

Cleanup: For files that no longer exist (like Feature-Flagging), I re-routed the links to relevant index pages to ensure the build passes while maintaining a helpful user experience.

Verification: Ran npm run docs:build locally on the Wiki repository; the build now completes with zero dead links and successfully generates the Pagefind search index.

Hi @RayBB, I have finished repairing the broken documentation links. Since I don't have write access to the Wiki repository, I am providing the fix as a patch below.

What I did:

Identified 15 dead links in the VitePress build.

Mapped all legacy root links to their new nested locations (e.g., 2_Developers/misc/, 2_Developers/2_Frontend/, etc.).

Updated the Endpoints link in 2_Developers/index.md to point to the backend index.

Verification: I ran npm run docs:build locally on the Wiki repo, and it completed with zero dead links and a successful Pagefind index.
