PUI #1 supplier part table

I compared the list of supplier parts. Please refer to the picture below:

In the old view I have a clear distinction between clickable entries (Part, Manufacturer, ...) and non clickable entries.
In the new view there is no distinction at all. The whole line is active and has just a single target: the supplierpart. All other
links are gone.
The IPN is missing.
Pagination at the top is missing.
The column "Description" has just one line, making the whole table too wide.
Is this

• design intention?
• bug?
• work in progress?
• can it be changed?

This is feedback that would have been good a year ago when we were designing stuff; and had a huge feedback discussion open that was barely used.
Everything can be changed but a lot of things were done this way and at least my focus is on other areas of the software now

Of course everything can be changed. It is software :-)
But I am not sure which design decisions have been done by careful UI design, and which ones just happened by accident.
We started just now to evaluate if a switch to the new UI is possible because the old one has been trashed.

We have been very vocal since 2023 that this will happen [1] multiple times [2] in blog posts and the GH org [3], this has been discussed since 2022 [4][5]. At this point, I am more than anything just frustrated that there is no interaction if we do not take drastic steps. This was not a silent or unforeseeable development.
The last blog item has been in the news section (that was prominently surfaced in the old UI) since Sep 2024. There have been warnings in the login screens for months.

The change in how tables work is implemented throughout the new UI so there are dozens of components and interactions to refactor. If you feel like this should change again I would expect a more well-thought-out UX reasoning than old different than new and separation between change requests.

@SergeoLacruz there are multiple issues you raise here, which makes it hard to address as a single issue. Yes there are some design decision changes to the tables, some of which we may be flexible on. @matmair and myself are not UX / frontend designers by trade. We put out a call for input, and received little feedback, so we are proceeding as we feel is best.

I would suggest that you break these up into separate issues so we can tackle each on its merits.

The problem with polls is that satisfied people do seldom answer.
The guy who designed the CUI did an almost perfect job. From the end user point of view there is no need for a change and
even no benefit. So why spend time on it.
I know the stories around code base, but the end user does not care about code base.

That is your view, there has often been feedback that CUI is too dense and complex and that usage is not intuitive as patterns change between models/interfaces.
I appreciate that you see no value in the work done here - no one forces you to update. Just do not expect fixes or support.
