[FR] Custom Fields / Extra IPN

Problem statement

we use inventree both for electronic parts and bigger assemblies which can consist of mechanical and electrical parts.
most of these parts need to have a second IPN due to our mother company uses SAP. we would like to add the SAP number to each part so it shows during bom export and browsing for parts. its a litle bit similar to supplier number and for example a digikey number.

Suggested solution

i would like it to be a option to show it as a extra collum in the bom veiw also expand this table so it shows underneath IPN

Describe alternatives you've considered

i have tried using part parameters but this will not show in the bom export. currently i am trying to make a simple script to make a custom bom export but would like a more user friendly alternative in the future.

ive also considering having both numbers in the IPN field and seperating them but this isnt very tidy and requires to manually split the collum at a later stage.

i have tried using part parameters but this will not show in the bom export.

You can absolutely export parameter data for a BOM. Simply select the "BOM exporter" plugin:

this was unforntunatly overlooked from my end. this will solve the export problems currently. ideally custom fields would be great but i can use this for now.

in the parameter section is there a reason why the part tab is not possible to unselect? as its not usefull data in that sense since you can already see the part in the top.
