IOS Product photos colors “inverted” for colorful objects and Random Shadow behavior

When I take a product photo directly via the iOS app, darker and gray colors are normal.
Everything colorful is kind of inverted.

Yellow becomes white, for example.
Shadows where colors change slightly get weird colored dots.
The test image is simply an opener. White-green-silver
In the shadows, it is dotted red.
The edge of the keyboard is dark and there are shadows. There are also red and blue dots there.

iPhone 16 Plus.
iOS 26.1.
0.20.2 - Build 105

Server version: 1.1.3.
API version: 421.
Database: django.db.backends.sqlite3.
Plugin support enabled.
Server status: Healthy.

That's a strange one.

We use the file_picker library for launching the camera to return an image. Specifically we are currently on version 10.1.4

I have not noticed any particular issues with image quality ( on android ).

If you can provide some more details / debugging, perhaps we can find a solution here

With the file picker, it's just too complicated in iOS if you want to do a lot at once.
You basically always have to take the photo first, then save it in the data, etc.
Unfortunately, you can't access the iCloud library directly.

I did some research and it seems to be a typical error caused by the chroma sampling of JPEG compression.
Basically, iOS HEIC -> JPEG 4:2:0 subsampling.
