Android build issue

I can't build my android app "@notifee/react-native": "^9.1.8",

FAILURE: Build failed with an exception.

* What went wrong:
Could not determine the dependencies of task ':app:mergeStagingNativeLibs'.

This is an issue that happens after upgrading to Expo SDK 54+. The maven.notifee.app repo is offline, so Gradle falls back to scanning JitPack — which doesn't host
app.notifee and just times out.

The good news: @notifee/react-native already ships the artifact locally at node_modules/@notifee/react-native/android/libs/. You just need to tell Gradle to
resolve from there exclusively.

The fix: Create an Expo Config Plugin that uses Gradle's exclusiveContent directive to restrict app.notifee resolution to the local libs directory only — zero
network calls, no JitPack scanning.

I hit this exact issue, went through 5 failed builds trying different approaches (adding maven URLs, forcing versions, reordering JitPack), and documented the

I don't use expo, but adding this to android/build.gradle solve the issue
