While it looks like some packages have added support for the new swift AppDelegate (#8466), the auth package does not yet support it:

Hi, I have been running into this issue where when trying to use the package "@react-native-firebase/auth", I get this error "Error: [ios.appDelegate]: withIosAppDelegateBaseMod: Don't know how to apply openUrlFix to AppDelegate of language "swift"" after trying to run a prebuild "npx expo rebuild --platform iOS". This occurred after upgrading to expo sdk 53. Is this issue related?

Do this in your ios/project-name/AppDelegate.swift file

Add FirebaseApp.configure() right in this block
