Code of Conduct

Our pledge

We as contributors and maintainers pledge to make participation in PatchPilot a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of age, body size, disability, ethnicity, gender identity and expression, level of experience, nationality, personal appearance, race, religion, or sexual identity and orientation.

We pledge to act and interact in ways that contribute to an open, welcoming, and healthy community.

Our standards

Examples of behaviour that contributes to a positive environment:

  • Using welcoming and inclusive language
  • Being respectful of differing viewpoints and experience levels
  • Gracefully accepting constructive feedback
  • Focusing on what is best for the community and the project
  • Showing empathy towards other community members

Examples of unacceptable behaviour:

  • The use of sexualized language or imagery, and unwelcome sexual attention or advances
  • Trolling, insulting or derogatory comments, and personal or political attacks
  • Public or private harassment
  • Publishing others' private information (such as a physical or email address) without explicit permission
  • Other conduct which could reasonably be considered inappropriate in a professional setting

Enforcement responsibilities

Project maintainers are responsible for clarifying and enforcing our standards of acceptable behaviour and will take appropriate and fair corrective action in response to any behaviour they deem inappropriate, threatening, offensive, or harmful.

Maintainers have the right to remove, edit, or reject comments, commits, code, wiki edits, issues, and other contributions that are not aligned with this Code of Conduct, and will communicate reasons for moderation decisions when appropriate.

Scope

This Code of Conduct applies within all project spaces — GitHub issues, pull requests, discussions, and any other forum used by the community. It also applies when an individual is officially representing the project in public spaces.

Enforcement

Instances of abusive, harassing, or otherwise unacceptable behaviour may be reported by opening a private GitHub Discussion or contacting the maintainer directly via GitHub.

All complaints will be reviewed and investigated promptly and fairly. The maintainer is obligated to respect the privacy and security of the reporter.

Enforcement guidelines

Violation severity Consequence
Minor — inappropriate language or unprofessional behaviour Private written warning with clarity on what was inappropriate
Moderate — sustained inappropriate behaviour or harassment of an individual Temporary ban from interaction with the project spaces
Severe — serious harassment, threats, or deliberate harm Permanent ban from all project spaces

This Code of Conduct is adapted from the Contributor Covenant, version 2.1.
