Buffer overflow

Hello team,

During a security audit of my Ionic Capacitor app, the following issue was identified:

The application was found to use functions or APIs that are potentially vulnerable to buffer overflow. While no exploit was demonstrated during the audit, the presence of these functions might allow an attacker to exfiltrate sensitive data, trigger race conditions, or execute malicious code under certain circumstances.

Since my app relies on Ionic's official libraries and Capacitor plugins, I would like to confirm:

• Could these potentially vulnerable functions originate from Ionic’s provided libraries or Capacitor plugins?
• Are there any known vulnerabilities related to buffer overflows in recent versions of Ionic/Capacitor?
• What steps should I take to ensure that my app does not introduce such risks, especially if they stem from third-party dependencies?

For reference, my app is built using:

• Ionic/cap version: 7.2.0

I appreciate any insights or recommendations on how to mitigate this issue.
